What is the correct path to download with transmission??

the file to be renamed is in:
/opt/lib/python2.5/lib-dynload

for Flexget, I installed by python2.5, py25-feedparser, and py25-yaml with Optware

I tried doing right click delete over the network but it says access denied or file in use.

So i used putty to ssh in and cd to /shares/sharename

I then renamed the folder the torrent file was in… /shares/sharename/torrentdownloadfoldername

I renamed it to 'a' to make it simple, then I typed mv torrentdownloadname.extension ../sharename and it moves the torrent download one dir up.

I could then type rm -rf /torrentdownloadfoldername or rm -rf 'a' and it would delete the folder.

I noticed that if you dont add the exension of the torrent when moving it then it will be called torrentdownload.file so you will have to right click rename over the network.

Also dont forget, when rebooting mbwe your download dir will default to \/shares\/internal\/PUBLIC\/torrent, if you made any new folders like lets say music or movies then dont forget to change it through web gui before starting a torrent.

Mine all say Unknown except those that are actually downloading or Seeding…..

i found a directory /opt/var/cron/crontabs/ with a root file in it. It already had a line in it.
Took a net crash course on how to edit and save the file using vi and i managed to put the lines in there.

1. chown -R www-data:www-data /shares/internal/PUBLIC
2. chmod -R ug-x+rwX /shares/internal/PUBLIC

now i wrote them without the #. Is that ok ? and should i reboot now? or how do i check if those lines do what i want?

My first post here so please dont come down hard on me. And also i would need to mention that my linux skills are zero.
But even so, using the info found around this wiki i managed to install Transmission on my World edition white light and even to have about 70 torrents seeding.

The problem i got into is that i tried to delete some files yesterday from a win7 PC and of course i got a facepalm from linux saying that i got no permissions bla bla.

This got me searching and i got to your very nice post and , surprisingly, managed to change permission on the share using the chmod -R 777 PUBLIC command.

Now i thought i migt go in a little deeper and do what alephsmith suggested, that is to add

1. chown -R www-data:www-data /shares/internal/PUBLIC
2. chmod -R ug-x+rwX /shares/internal/PUBLIC

to some file so i dont have to go ssh in every day to run a command.

Problem is i cant find that /etc/crontabs folder and i have no ideea what file to look for and how to edit it:(

They don't seem to be using Done anymore, it's now Idle…

I'm running 1.75 and "Done" is still in that line if a torrent is fully downloaded….

That's exactly what I mean, along with every other torrent I have downloaded since updating.

and, what i meant was, a command line switch that would allow you to run the whole script manually no matter how long it's been (which I already went and added to mine) I was getting tired of waiting for just the right moment every 5 minutes, so I could see the entire output (most of that never goes to the log)

They don't seem to be using Done anymore, it's now Idle… I guess, and Seeding, etc. I decided to check the /tmp/trans_watchdog.output file, and that's when I noticed none of them say Done… I'm not even sure how the one I posted as an example ever even got that far…

using Unknown so it wouldn't stop files that are still seeding, and, it seems to have gone back to working.
using unknown may not be the best way to keep it from interrupting files that are seeding at that moment (since some could still say unknown) but, getting rid of Done fixed the problem, since newer versions of transmission don't seem to use Done anymore.

Adding Grep -v "Seeding " could be a good way to stop only torrents that aren't currently seeding…. just a thought :)

Not really…
The script should be run every minute so it doesn't take too long before a torrent is added from the watchfolder. To keep the Worldbook from stressing it will abort the script after monitoring the watchfolder and will continue only every 5 minutes….

It seems you have not installed "SendEmail"
It's a perl-script which should be in your PATH to work. Nothing trivial though. It just informs you a torrent is finished.

The log seems to be normal. Do you mean this torrent (#31) didn't move to /shares/internal/NEW ?

So, it is trying to send me an email about the problem, instead of just outputting it to the log…..

It's also not writing the log files for the files…..

I'll see if I can add some log output there and see what it says.

Mine seems to be around 2-3MB max while at the PC I can download the same torrent at speeds of 5-6MB/s.

Many people misunderstands MBWE. It is not a PC, this is a NAS with deliberately limited hardware capabilities.

This is not a PC or server, check your MBWE's CPU and memory and you'll find your PocketPC nearly has the same. :)
