This could be a solution to translate megaupload urls to download links to be used with this buit-in downloader.

Hmm.
If we have to do this things on non-root profile and if this part is not necessary:

edit $DEFUSER = ""; and $DEFPASS = "";

Then I did it how you told in tutorial.

I bought a 1tb second-gen mybook world today to use for Ghost backups, but when I do a very large file transfer (200gb ish) the mybook stops responding about 80% of the way through, it starts responding again about a minute later but by this point the backup has failed. Any suggestions?

I just installed 01.01.16 and everything seems to work fine.
I think you are experiencing some permission problems.
Did you install the way described in the first post?

Same issue here, i am having transmission in upload rate up to 90Kbps but it keeps locking after 2-3days when i download something

Hello, I have similar problem!

For security reasons I disabled the ssh login unless for user "someone" (in /etc/sshd_conf AllowUser someone) with the purpose that once logged, I "su" for root privileges only when necessary. The thing is that when I try, I get this message:
-sh: su: not found
~ $ ~ $ su

And now I am stuck, since I can't change back sshd_conf, since I don't have write access :(((((((((

Can I get access to su??? Please help, any suggestions are welcome.

Hi,

I have a problem.
I try to install a Epson printer following this tutorial on this wiki but I stop in step "Find new printer" because I not found anything.
If typed "lsusb" this return:

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 04b8:0007 Seiko Epson Corp.

How I can add my printer??
I trying add manually but not print because the URL for printer is /dev/lp and I think that it should be USB:\//EPSON…, right?
Just can setup printer with this configuration (adding it manually) seen from cupsd web access:

EPSON_A5 "Filter "commandtoepson" for printer "EPSON_A5" not available: No such file or directory"
Description: Impresora EPSON Color DIN A5
Location: Pret

I don't have the latest firmware on my White mybook. So I don't think it is related to WD's new firmware.

I've got mine uploading at 70-80kbps since I originally posted with no lockups. However, I haven't downloaded anything on it. I'm just using it as a seedbox to seed torrents. So I don't think it is an Upload rate issue. Seems to just be when I am downloading torrents on the box.

Hi,

i got my mybook whitelight yesterday and tried all the evening to get webdav working (i installed the latest firmware) . has anyways got it working with the latest firmware? lighttpd is running and it seems to load the webdav modules, but i cant log in.
i havent been able to find the htdigest (has it ever been on the mybook?) and tried it with plain authentification. but even there it said wrong password (i created it with htpasswd like 3 times).

i cant post more information at the moment, cause i'm at work.

but maybe anyone has an idea what the problem could be.

I saw something in the user guide that you can connect it to your computer through the ethernet cable. Go onto WD website and get the user guide and i think i saw it in the troubleshoot section. Hopefully you have wireless too.

Hi,
I upgraded my firmware from the factory version to 1.01.16. Since doing so my computer is seeing 2 network hdd's.. one is MyBookWorld and the other is MyBookWorld-Backup. I cant even see the shares on the -Backup drive.

Has anyone had this before?

if you have USB 2 IDE/SATA adapter, you can use it as a USB external harddisk

Nope, only way is over the network. The USB port is for an external drive.

I got this harddrive from my family as a gift. Got it out, started hooking it up, then I realized it's a network harddrive. Is there a way to hook it up standard USB/Firewire so I can save files directly to it?

When some download finishes at Transmission that I installed in My Book World Edition, white light, I can delete the folders in the Download/ folder…
I found out that is because the root user is the one that is downloading my torrents, or something like that.

How can I change to the Admin user download it?

(i don't want a cron to do a chmod every day…)

is there an way?

Hi,
I have the same problem. My Book World Edition II (Raid 1, 2TB) … and now I'm confused what to do. Most of the guids are for single drive MyBooks. And for all solutions you need a hell of experience … which I do not have.

Questions:
1. So, what have I do to to restore my MyBook. (For my luck I have a backup of all the MyBook data, so I only need a restore of MyBook itself)
2. Where does this problem come from. What is the reason for this problem?
3. I also read, that the problem has to do with the twonky log file. What about that? Is that really the problem? (http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-171648/xml-error:no-wixnas-object-found)
