that script was meant for the first version of mybook! you will have to follow a rescue procedure to revive your mybook. Your data should be just fine and you can connect the hd to a linux system and recover everything easily

Hello to all,

First of all, I searched the forum but didn´t find a topic with a problem similiar to mine, sorry if I have overseen this.

I have the following problem:
I have done the update (after activating SSH-access) to install a new web interface shown on this website: http://martin.hinner.info/mybook/webif.php
After installing the update and reboot the My Book World Edition will not boot. The hard-drives does spin but the box doesnt boot.

Therefore it dont get an IP-adress,so I have neither SSH-access nor Access via web-interface.

It seems that there is a problem with the firmware, I think some files are corrupt so the box doesnt boot.

Is there a way to restore the original firmware (I do have the image file) via USB-stick when the box starts up?
Can I copy the data when connecting the hard-drive (which is not damaged) via SATA interface to Ubuntu?
Can I also access the directories with my data? I do have the username and passwords.

Would be fine if someone can help me and again, sorry, if this was already discussed.

Thanks and regards
Rene
