To access WDNAS RAID1 disks from KNoppix, mount disks in new PC, boot knoppix, enable raid, go to mounted raid.

don't know the SSH password and I disabled the Web GUI, modified files manually with PC, cannot access the shares anymore from the Mybook

I stupidly changed root's shell to /bin/tcsh, which doesn't exist (it's in /opt/bin/tcsh). Now I can't login as root to fix it.
