My name is Thiago and I've got several issues with MyBook World.
I bought it two days ago and now I'm considering hacking it because while Mybook is default, it won't work properly at all.
I have instaled Mionet but i don't use it because my wireless transfer rate is pretty much slow. Then I use the MyBook hooked up directly with my Gigabit ethernet PCi-E Card and with the Map Network Drive settings.
At first I can transfer to MyBook only small files without any problem. But things aren't so good when i try transfering large files from my pc to MyBook, like a 4GB file. It start transfering without any problem but until a certain point,
that's when a Windows Message Error appears saying that i don't have privilege enough to continue and the file can't be copied because of the lack of empty space or the disk is write protected. Pretty nonsense because
I' have the privilege system set to full access (read, write and etc) through MyBook's web-based configuration.
My very first question is:
-Should I Hack my MyBook? Will I get to transfer Large files without any problem?
-Having MyBook hacked, will I have the WD Anywhere (Mionet) working from anywhere like a default MyBook does? (Ex.: I'm in my university and I can get a file through the WD Anywhere with a internet connection)
-I'm considering using MyBook as a torrent downloader. Is it easy to set the torrents for downloading and disable it when i need to transfer a file tio my pc with the full bandwidth?
I'm very disappointed with these things, I mean, a 1 TB External Storage should work with large files, thats the purpose having 1 TERABYTE.
Well, that's it, thank you very much.
