I occasionally connect an external USB disk to the MBWE for e.g. backups. It automounts just fine in /shares/external/ST3400832A/Partition-1, and I can access it from within the MBWE. However, I also would like to access the external USB directly from my desktop computer running Ubuntu. I have added the automounted path to /etc/exports which then looks like this
/shares/internal/ 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0(rw,sync,all_squash,anonuid=33) /shares/external/ST3400832A/Partition-1 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0(rw,sync,all_squash,anonuid=33
However, to make the external disk available for mounting on the desktop computer, I have to run exportfs -a after connecting/turning on the external USB disk and having it mounted automatically on the MBWE. Can anyone help me to automate this process?
