I have installed Transmission 1.42 following the tutorial (http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/transmission). When running from the Web interface, I can open up a torrent and when I start down/uploading I could see that some peers are connected but as soon as the download rate indicator shows that I start to download I get the following error: "Connection failure Could not connect to the server. You may need to reload the page to reconnect." The Transmission processes, displayed by ps -A | grep transmission, have been killed. The only information I've found on the forum suggests a reinstallation of Transmission (http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-105360/transmission-1-40-released), which I of course have tried. However, without success. Please help - googling on the subject has lead me to an answer!
Solved! I reinstalled transmission again (removed package transmission and installed it again) and this time I ran the ldconfig command after installation. I don't know if that made the difference, but now it is working. I'm quite sure that I ran it at the initial installation, but I certainly didn't after my first reinstall.
