Is possible to add a user from a pc running linux to a created group in mbwe with write permissions? I want to do that because my mbwe is part of a ddns service and I mount my unit with 777 permissions, this is a security risk due to intrusors could delete archives. I have created in the disk a special group for my friends&family with write permissions, my intention is "telling" mbwe that one user belonging to a other linux box can write archives (belongs to this special group). I want to give my important archives rwxrwxr— permissions. I don't know if I am explaining well…
- Some users from outside can write (I have create a group and corresponding users in mbwe), they log in through ftp with login/password. This is already done and probably works.
- My pc user (mounting disk through cifs) has to be recognized a a part of that special group yet created, the problem is that this user is recognized by the disk as "others users" and then is not possible to change rwxrwxr— for security reasons.
