I am in the process of recovering a (ahem!) trashed WB-II (1TB - 2x500g as LINEAR) that had a rather catastrophic drive "A" failure.
This particular device has some extremely critical data on it - so "failure is NOT an option!" - simply saying "stinks being me" and starting over was not a pleasant possibility.
I have received a HUGE amount of advice and support from this group - without which I would be scre… "fastened" ;-) rather severely. (Can *YOU* say "Hozed"? Ahhh! I knew you could!!) Especially from Gabriel - who has been a shining beacon of light throughout this ordeal.
I am not yet done - but I have learned a LOT about what's going on here - and I am taking copious notes about what does, and does not, work.
I would like to "give back" to this group by publishing a "disaster recovery" HOW-TO - how to recover from the unthinkable.
It would be, in essence, a guide down the path I went, explaining how to do what I did, without all the side trips, blind-allys, and dead-ends that I ran into.
1. Do you folk see a significant enough value add in a document like this for me to create and post it?
2. If the answer is "Yes!" - Is there anything I need to know about creating it, submitting it, or where to place it?
Thanks a zillion in advance!
