When I mount shares under windows, everything works perfectly. When I mount the same shares from my ubuntu boxes, I can copy files to and from the shares with nautilus. However, when I open files on the shares with an application (blender, openoffice, gnucash) I cannot resave the files. The specific error varies from application to application but all seem to point toward permission and/or locking problems.
Gnucash says it cannot get a lock
blender gives an obscure numbered error message.
Openoffice complains with "Error saving the document General Error General input/output error"
I've updated the firmware to 2.00.18 and upgraded all the packages.
I'm sure the problem is related to Samba/CIFS on the MBWE because I can mount shares on other boxes with the same command without error. I can also mount a share from the MBWE with SSHFS and read/save without error.
If anyone has this working reliably, I'd love a copy of your smb.conf file or other suggestions.
