I'm using rsync 3.0.5 (have deleted version 2.x) and I'm running rysinc as a daemon on MBWE. I think the issue I have is related to the /etc/rsyncd.conf file, I have created a direcotry by the name test_test under /shares/internal/PUBLIC/ but for some reason when I run rsync as an agent to synchronize the files from my laptop I always get the files under /home/~user/BACKUP instead of /shares/internal/PUBLIC/test_test . The directory BACKUP under home user is created if not existed. Bellow is the rsyncd.conf file :
motd file /etc/rsync-motd
log file = /var/log/rsyncd.log
pid file = /var/run/rsyncd.pid
lock file = /var/run/rsync.lock
path = /shares/internal/PUBLIC/test_test/
comment = "test …"
uid = nobody
gid = nobody
read only = no
list = yes
auth users = username
secrets file = /etc/rsyncd.scrt
Can some one pls point out what am I doing wrong ?
