How to mount an SMB share?

I tried the instructions at http://blog.doylenet.net/?p=82 but to be honest I don't really know what I'm doing :)

Does anyone have any instructions for how to do this with the whitelight MBWE?

Those instructions will most likely not work. The whitelight version is very new (first post is only a month old), and people have just barely started hacking it yet. I think only the information found in this forum is valid so far (and people are suggesting things that don't work half the time). Following instructions for the blue light might be risky, and you might end up with a bricked unit.

Wait until everything is streamlined and you find updated wiki pages targeting the white light specifically.

I just got my white light MBWE. I ran the firmware update first. I was able to mount from an intrepid machine by doing this:

sudo mount //serverAddress/Public /your_mountpoint

This mounts the MBWE "Public" folder to /mountpoint. My MBWE came with 2 precofigured folders : Public and Downloads. my mount command shows up as

//my_server_address/Public on /my_mount type cifs (rw,mand)

I probably should have been more specific; What I really want to be able to acheive is to ssh into the MBWE and mount another NAS's share so that I can do direct transfers/rsyncs etc.

The problem is that my MBWE doesn't have support for CIFS, although somebody much more clever than myself did manage to get it working on the older MBWE.
