Hi.. I have followed your guide to install vsftpd on my my book world edition I 500GB, but when i try to connect to the NAT, the ftp client gives me this message: 500 OOPS: could not bind listening IPv4 socket. Please help me with this annoying problem, i have no idea how to solve it :)
My vsftpd stopped working after an upgrade with the same error.
I posted the solution on this forum.
I could search for you, but you can do this too.
I tried to look for it, but couldn't find my own post….
Too bad you can't search for author…
You have to change the "listen=" in /opt/etc/vsftpd.conf
It should be "no" because inetd is listening…..
# netstat -anp | grep LISTEN | grep :21 tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:21 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 653/inetd
Wierd.. i searched for that in the forum before i posted.. Your solution worked, but now it gives me: OOPS: cannot change directory: User :/
