I have a Mybook World Edition (500GB). Many months ago, I successfully upgraded the Mybook to firmware version 02.00.18 in order to enable the SSH hack. Even though the firmware upgrade worked, I didn't get chance to successfully enable SSH as I gave up trying at the time.
Anyway, the Mybook still functioned perfectly okay for many months, I could access it via my LAN, send and retrieve files to it etc…until recently.
Last week, I had to reset the Mybook (powering it off, holding the reset button whilst powering it on). The reason I had to reset it, is because I'd forgotten the password that I had previously set to access the browser GUI.
Everything went as planned. The Mybook received a DHCP address, I could access via a UNC path - but for some reason, when I now go to the browser GUI, all it keeps saying is:
System reconfiguring... Please wait while the system is reconfigured. Please reboot your computer to make sure settings are updated
No matter what I try and do, it keeps displaying the above message. When I try clicking on the "General Setup" "File Sharing" or "Drive Management" tabs, it asks for the default admin password - sure enough, I type it in, but all I keep getting is this infernal "System reconfiguring" screen!
So now I have a Mybook that still works (I can access it from a workstation on my LAN and browse files that are stored on it), but the browser interface seems to be shot to hell.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this problem? Any help at all would be great.
