Yes, transmission 1.7x is fucked on the worldbook (both whitelight and bluering.
It works on my friend's DD-WRT router (MIPS)…

cd /opt
wget http://wd.mirmana.com/transmission_1.61-1_arm.ipk
ipkg remove transmission
ipkg install transmission_1.61-1_arm.ipk

BTW
I just did this same procedure on my new whitelight and after removing 1.71 and installing 1.61 it also installed gettext.
This means the newer 1.71 doesn't need gettext….

I tried to install transmission 1.61, following your instructions, on my MBWE White Light, but after the installation (successfully terminated), when I try to execute transmission-daemon I obtain this error message:

/opt # /opt/bin/transmission-daemon
-sh: /opt/bin/transmission-daemon: not found

Can you help me?
thanks

Sorry…
It's only bluering….

You need the same file but then a whitelight…
I just have my whitelight for 4 days….
Someone else may still have that file….

Hello adsoyuri,
the easiest way to install transmission on a white Light Mybook is to configure the Feature Pack Manager, then click the install buton
for the transmission Feature Pack…

Hi TeinturMan,

I tried Feature Pack too, but the transmission Feature Pack installs the transmission version 1.71, so I have the same problem….
It would be good if it was possible to create a transmission Feauter Pack with 1.61 version.

thanks

PS

It works for my bluering but only noticed this morning it wasn't working for my whitelight….
I posted this last evening just before I went to sleep. I'm only using my whitelight for storage because I want it as a testbed for my optware installer and for that it needs to go back to its virgin state…

While you have a transmission that still fails… why don't you try my optware installer and busybox replacement…
It will make your worldbook understand all those millions of scripts that are out there….

As long as you are using busybox as bash-interpreter thing will go wrong with them and you will spend more time on debugging than on enjoying you box….
