Okay. I'm confused.
I have a mybook world edition II. I have installed this Martin Hinner firmware update, and created a new username, lowercase, of 'charlie'. (I am a linux newbie so bear with me).
I downloaded putty in order to try and do the ssh hack.
I used caps to fill in the username so it looked something like this.
Now here's the bit I can't get my head around. I entered the password I'd created for the username:
After a bit of digging I find that putty doesn't use the normal '**' password format, and instead used invisible characters for additional security.
Fair enough. I look at the tutorial again, it says to put your password, a space, and then su -, and then press enter. I do it, and get the same result.
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
