Hi there all

I'm a complete noob to Linux and the world of optware running on My Book World Edition (White Light), but am loving it.

Twonkymedia 4.4.4 is not quite working as I would like. I stream to a PS3 and mainly create m2ts files as this would appear to be the most convenient container that holds h264 video (>4.1 main profile) and AC3. Twonymedia does not handle the time of the file and sees them as near infinite. While it streams for a straightforward play, skipping does not work well at all. TVersity running on my PC does a great job for 95%+ of my files, but why have my PC running if I don't need to.

I have just installed MiniDLNA with no problems. I edited minidlna.conf and added /shares/Public/Videos as the media directory (not preceded with a 'V') and started minidlna. I keep all my videos in subdirectories of Videos. Presto, straight into the PS3.

However there are no 'titles to display' I tried copying files to the Videos directory and even creating a Video directory but to no avail.

Does anyone have any tips on having MiniDLNA find the video files and stream to PS3. I feel I'm so close and just missing a final trick here. Some questions I have include:

• Do I need to stop Twonkymedia?
• Do I need to be explicit about the V prefix to the media directory?
• Do I need to specify some file types and link them to a decoding engine (I think I read this in a post somewhere)?

I am interesting y how to install MiniDLNA and What´s it´s MiniDLNA? Why "Mini"? :D

I have a xbox360 and I can probe in a Ps3

I'm just installed minidlna with optware on my My Book World Edition (White Light). I configured the pathname related to medialibrary (/shares/Public) but it dont work. The problem (just see it in /tmp/minidlna/minidlna.log) is the following : 0 files found !!
Any hint ?

just to give you un update:
if i put some media (mp3 or jpeg) on /root then minidlna works ! (obviously you need to modify the medialibrary path).
/root is mounted on /dev/md2, ext3 type. I think that minidlna doesn't work on xfs filesystem type which is the filesystem type of /shares

Check the directory that you have configured for media in mindlna.conf.
The one in your post is not explicit…

Your config
media_dir=shares/Public/Shared Videos

should read something like….
media_dir=/shares/Public/Shared Videos
(Directory name should start with a /)

Thanks for that but still no joy, I think angiolin might be right about not being able to see the xfs file system. Hopefully, there'll be an update for Twonky soon. Fuppes Upnp server also works to be fair.

I would really like some help with this too. I've got miniDLNA and running but no files appeared to be shared. I have added this line to miniDNLA.conf

media_dir=shares/Public/Shared Videos

Secondly, how do I stop miniDLNA running?
