Sorry for my english.
Please, help me. I can not get access to mybookworldedition in web interface. When i try to do it i have an error:XML error: no wixnas object found! OR XML error: no wixnas object found! Warning: Unknown(): write failed: No space left on device (28) in Unknown on line 0 Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0 .
And most terrible, i think, that i lost my data on mybook. When I get access in ssh, I see that /download and /Public folder is empty.
Dont worry, your data is still there.
You will need to restore your my book but first you need to backup your data.
I will write a guide soon for restoring / backing up your my book world edition and backing up your data.
Warning: Unknown(): write failed: No space left on device (28) in Unknown on line 0 Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0
I had this error as well. It turned out that twonky log file and an older watchdog tmp files filled up the /dev/root. After running "df -h" in telnet:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
rootfs 1.9G 1.9G 0 100% /
/dev/root 1.9G 1.9G 0 100% /
/dev/md3 950M 122M 780M 14% /var
/dev/md2 929G 912G 18G 99% /DataVolume
/dev/ram0 62M 20K 62M 1% /mnt/ram
Solution:
1) Twonky:
Check the content of the file:
tail -n1000 /twonky/twonkymediaserver-log.txt
Check that the Twonky logfile size:
ls -lah /twonky/twonkymediaserver-log.txt
Mine was 1.6GB. If it big then go to the twonky webgui/Miscellaneous and click on "Clear logs" then untick that type of info that you do not need to log.
Disable twonky by doing:
chmod -x /etc/init.d/S97twonkyserver
2) older watchdog tmp files in /tmp
An older watchdog creates tmp files in /tmp but does not delete them. After a while it can be many in /tmp. So check:
cd /tmp
ls
If you have a lot tmp* file, delete them:
rm -f tmp*
It can take a while depending on the amont of tmp file (it took me 20 mins)
3) Now check the filesystem size again:
df -h
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/md0 1.8G 98.4M 1.6G 6% /
/dev/md3 949.6M 122.0M 779.3M 14% /var
/dev/md2 928.3G 911.0G 17.3G 98% /DataVolume
/dev/ram0 61.9M 20.0k 61.9M 0% /mnt/ram
4) Now you should be able to write on /dev/md*
Hi
I bought WD Mybookwordl II just 1 month ago and it work fine just for a while.
Now I've the same error, and now no way to connect to MyBook:
ssh doesn't work (I've tried putty and I got Network error connection refused)
Web interface doesn't work.
I can ping it
telnet (putty) again… not work.
I use RAID 1.
I'm thinking I'm in a bad situation
Any suggestions?
Thank in advance
It's great!!!Iam in waiting for your guide.Thank you.
I have usb hdd mass storage needed volume. What I must to do to back up my files with them?
I readed all your guide. Great work!!! I have some questions:
1. Are you shure, that my data is still there?I ask it, because when i get access in ssh and look at /download and /Public folder, it's empty and their size is zero. If i put hdd from mybook I will lost my garanty, but, if my data is still there, I will try to do it, because my data is more important then money.
2. Can I doing operation from your guide for backing up my data with notebook without disconect internal hdd? My notebook has a port for conecting SATA drives.
Thanks for your help.
1) yes your data in on /dev/sda4, it is mounted when the box boots up to show in /shares/
2) yes if you open your book you will loose your warrenty
3) you can use a laptop but I would remove the laptops hdd first, you can get confused and overwrite your laptops hdd by accident.
what mybook model have you got?
Model of my book is: Western Digital WDH1NC10000 (white light).
And another stupid questions: because I can not get my files with FTP or SSH? I see all folders of mybook's file system with ssh. What happend with it?
Thanks.
first thing you need todo is to backup /dev/sda4 files, then you can restore /dev/sda1/sda2/sda3/ptables and bootmanager.
Enonymous, yes it is. I can SSH/FTP but my shares folders is empty.
It started when i try to install feature pack for mybook from http://highlevelbits.
On that time on my book was installed optware, transmission and same other packages.
And now I have mybook, that works not correctly (it's leds can blink or not blink). For example, now his leds is not shine, but i can SSH/FTP.
Can you answer my questions: what happend with them?
Thanks.
I'm afraid I can't help you find out what happened to your data, as I'm struggling with MyBook myself. If your shares folders are empty, it's probably safe to say your data is gone.
You can try returning it to the store, but I think installing stuff like optware, etc already voids your warranty.
Good luck.
Matt01,Enonymous, thanks for your help. All your post's helped me very much.
I will try to return mybook to the store, before deinstalling all softs, installed myself.
I have the exact same error: "XML error: no wixnas object found!"
Model of my book is: Western Digital WDH1NC10000 - 00 (white light).
I had optware, transmission as well and from 1 minute to another i lost my access RIGHT AND THE THE CONNECTIONS to my white light.
After 2-3 hard reset know i have ip address and can telnet in but can not acces to the NAS either with the webgui or ftp, only the telnet left.
In telnet my download and public shares are empty as well and can not write on the NAS in telnet, always give me an error that the disk is full.
See more here: http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-174573/no-dhcp-address-assignment-to-white-light-wl-from-d-link-dir-855
So,
1) What I hae to do to save my Public folder?
2) yurij: Did you manage to recover your NAS?
3) Matt01: could you help me here as well? I really need to back up what i have in Public…
Thanks in advance.

Matt01, you were right, my data were at my MBWE. Some hours ago I recover my data, how you wrote at Unbrick Guide. And then I recover my MBWE with MyBookRescue by Teinturman. Guy's, you are the greatest.I am happy very much. Thank you.
I had transmission downloading to the wrong partition. I fixed that and freed up space on md0 and then I rebooted. I still get "XML error: no wixnas object found!". What else can I do?
