This is quite a specific post about the white light. I want to access my files in white light from a Samsung PS50B850 TV, using its built in media player player with DLNA.
Maybe somebody has experience here. I went to one of the big shops and tried to connect directly the TV to My WD Mybook world Edition (White Light) NAS (NTFS) via Ethernet Cable
I had big expectation but they have not meet today. I could not get them up and running with the Sami.
1) The built media could not find the NAS, even when i tested the network with option "Auto" or when I added manually the IP/Gateway/DNS etc. Do i miss something or a NAS can not be connected directly to the TV via Ethernet?
2) Can the TV play video files on a NTFS drive (connected via USB or via LAN)?
3) My main question is that can the samy play 720p/1080p mkv files (H.264, AAC) from a NAS (NTFS), connected to a router via LAN with its build-in media program? e.g. NAS (NTFS)->Router->PS50B850 (built-in media program)
4) Do i need to turn UPnP on?
I do not want to connect my laptop to the TV it is not necessary to be able to play HD mkv content. I want to access all of my media files from my NAS in the TV. Is that possible? (I do not want to use the USB either if i have everything in my NAS).
Any help greatly appreciated.
