it seems that my WhiteLight ignores file owners, groups and/or permissions when accessing them over NFS (=Network File System - I am using Linux) ?!
My /etc/exports on the MBWE contains this:
The ro/rw option works (client 192.168.1.6 can write, 192.168.1.7 can *NOT* write)
The root_squash option works, too - if uid 0 from client 192.168.1.6 creates a file, it gets
uid 65534 and gid 65534.
But a user with e.g. uid 1001 can read, write to and even delete files and directories
owned by any other uid !!!
Someone can confirm this behavior? Any hints why this could be ?
Just as a sidenote: Those clients are accessing other NFS filesystems and there is no
such behavior with the other NFS server. The other NFS server is NFSv4, however.
I really would like to enable NFSv4 on the WhiteLight, but have no success in compiling
Any help is very welcome, thanks,
