MBWE (Blue Rings) Can't access storage manager

Hi Guys.

I really need your help and this seems the perfect place. I have a MBWE (Blue Rings). It has always worked perfectly and has 3 shares that were configured through Storage Manager over a year ago. Everyone in the house can access them perfectly.

However I now can't access Storage Manager at all. It is completely unmodified with no hacks installed. I work for O2 Broadband so I know my way around our routers. I can see that the IP address assigned in 192.168.1.64 but this just shows as Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I have also tried a different model of router and it does the exact same. \\nas shows the folders and http://nas shows as Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

I have done the factory reset a few times. Power off - disconnected everything - reset button in - waiting for blue light - waited 10 seconds and still no change.

Any help would be appreciated…

whats is the MBWE called under network, since my was called wdstorage first time I started it, even tho it said it should be called mybookworld in the manual.

man, the SAME thing is happening with me today. It just happened today, drive has been rock solid for about a year. I cannot SEE it on the network, reboots do nothing and most of the time the blue light doesn't even come on. Not sure what is going on, sounds like a ZERO day failure.

I have had the exact same issue. I can see the MBWE (blue rings) in my network admin (router) and I can send "ping" but I cannot access the webb interface. There is a reset procedure but it does not work.

This happens to me from time to time, but if I turn the drive off and back on, it works normal. My problem is related to AccessBook. If I tried to upload too big a file, when it got to 100%, it failed. I couldn't see the upload file in the folder. Storage Manager and AccessBook both failed with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". My SSH still works though.

Same thing has happened to me, I was messing with Transmission and must have hosed the webserver and now I can't access the storage manager anymore. SSH isn't working either, SMB however is working perfectly, so I can access the drive as normal, just can't configure it. Is there a method for fixing the webserver install without buying a SATA -> USB interface? I have a second MyBookWorld that works perfectly if that's any help?

Cheers!

Don't know if this is exactly the same. I have 1TB MBWE NAS drive (blue rings) that started to lock up during extended file transfers to/from another networked drive. It would recover if I pulled the plug on it and then replugged it in. Could use the files etc. Now it takes several power ups to get the blue rings to light up. The hard drive seems to spin. However, I can't see it on the network and can't access via browser by typing either mybookworld or wdstorage in the address field. The network router does see "mybookworld" assigned to local ip: 192.168.1.107 so that's something. I know very little about linux though it looks vaguely familiar from my MS-DOS days. I don't want to lose the data on it if I don't have to. I have a knoppix live disc but don't really know what to do with it. Am willing to learn a little more about linux if someone would be kind enough to point me in a direction. Please advise. Am noob to this so appreciate your patience with me. Have looked at the recovery procedures but am not sure if that's what I need to do. Sounds like recovering data to a new drive. Is there a way to get this one running or at least get the data accessible if running linux/knoppix ro some other program? Thanks for any advice in advance.
