I'm new to linux and trying to instal iptables so i can block certain ip address. I have my MBWE ported through my Router so i can access FTP outside my network. I had some guy in Texas trying to gain access through the "admin" username for 5 + hours on Sat. I blocked the port for a few hours to kick him out, but I want to get some program that I can make a black list so I can add ip addresses to block. Is IpTables the best way to go, or is there some other program that I can use?
IpTables
IpTables
Re: IpTables
As far as I know iptables has yet to be made for this set, but if you have a router why not just use it to block those ip's?

Re: IpTables
i have a 2wire router from AT&T, it doesn't have anything like that.
Re: IpTables
If that is the case then I am sorry mate, only thing that I could suggest would be to get a real router that can support dd-wrt or something similar and use that. You can get a compatible linksys router on ebay for round 30 bucks.
