The Samba update instructions currently provided are for the White Light, and don't map gracefully over to the Blue Ring device. Would anyone be interested in providing some instructions?
I recently upgraded to Windows 7, and the version of Samba on the blue ring device has a bug that makes it impossible to delete a folder full of files. All files in a folder must be deleted first, otherwise the folder (and the files in it) just reappear every time you try to delete them.
WD support told me they don't support the blue ring mbwe with windows 7 (gee, thanks guys).
So, my only recourse is to update the Samba installation myself. I'd like to be able to do it in such a way that I can still manage shares from the standard web interface. I've tried upgrading via optware a couple of times, but each time, I loose the ability to manage the shares via the web interface.
Can anyone provide any guidance? I'd be hugely grateful.
