Can you recommend some good hard-disk statistics program which is available in ipkg?
I'm using this feed: http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs05q1armel/cross/unstable/
But it does neither have dtat or iostat.
I need something what exactly says the hdd current actions (read, write, etc), if it can tell what process works with the hdd it would be a dream.
I have my mbweII mounted via NFS, and in the last few days for example mounting the shares or rsync to the mbwe (even small files) starts to spin the hdd like a madman for around 2 minutes. Then the mount or rsync successfully finishes…but well this shouldn't work this way I'm pretty sure. And it didn't happen few days before. I didn't install anything since then what might cause this plus smartctl doesn't show any possible physical error, and I assume only software problem.
A second question is some inconvenince only: sometimes when I try to move files between folders I get "invalid cross-device link" error. Actually I just move between the two mountpoints like: mv /mnt/mbwe2/download/apple /mnt/mbwe2/fruits
I have the mbwe mounted with NFS and these options: rw,user,soft,sync,timeo=14,intr
I think soft linking should solve the problem, but it appears not. If I see correctly the files move between different filesystems (read from mbwe2 with nfs > my linux computer with ext3 > back to mbwe2 with NFS) but this should be a problem only with hardlinks if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks a zillion.
