I have to integrate a MBW into a CNC production environment. Unfortunately CNC hardware is often "timed out" - at least when you compare these with IT industries lifecycles…
That's where my problem seems to result from: The situation is: the CNC system has a build in FTP client - do I have to say that's MS-DOS based? - and filters data it displays. There is no chance to switch between folders as there is no chance to even display them. So you need to log in the "correct" folder directly, or you will never ever see your files. When using the standard ftp server in MBW (seems to be vsftpd) the log in directory is "/shares" and you control the folders shown via the "vsftpd.share_acl" - but this "only" allows to control the folders displayed you'll never see in the CNC system.
Modifying the "passwd" for a specific user enables the login to a different folder … but there is no chance to see the content of this folder (i.e. using "ls" in the ftp shell).
How can I control the log in directory AND see the files contained in the directory?
