Ok so I saw another thread on sharespace's in this forum, that didn't seem to have what i was looking for, so I figured this would be my safest bet on where to ask. I did search for sharespace on the site and found one page which had lots of command liney stuff but very little explinations on what it was for and what it meant and it honestly read like ancient greek to me so I feel like a total newb. I had 2 mybooks (500g & 1 TB) set up to share all my media and inevitably the usb connectors on both have broken so I had to gut them and they're now internal sata's. To replace them I went all out and bought an 8TB sharespace as the mybooks were running out of space anyway. I've never had a network drive before so I really had no idea what I was getting into. I do have it up and running I can move my files to it and all of that. My only issue is with the media server. I really hate being forced to use /public as the root directory for my media library with the /share x folders. I prefer my personal folders I have all organized just the way I like them. I wasn't aware of this limitation when I bought this thing and am really frustrated with it.
Apparently Twonky is set up with a root directory assigned upon install at the factory. I want to change the root directory so that I can make it a different share folder on the drive as I've completely ignored public and download. Short of creating a linux partition, as I don't have linux and haven't the foggiest idea how to use it, I'm all open to anything I can do to fix this. I'm a quick learner so if my fix a bunch of command line stuff I'm all for trying but I'll need a little explination. Ya know where, what, how and why just enough to get me through it. Any help is highy appreciated. I miss my Doctor Who and it's on lockdown hehe!
Thanks in Advance :o)
