Ok, so I have been attempting to redo a newly formattted, previously bricked, 500gb Blue Light MBWE.
I have gotten all the way to restoring the images to each of the partitions - this is where I get stuck.
When I run 'bzcat sdb1.img.bz2| dd of=/dev/sdc1' in terminal nothing happens, I get a blinking cursor on the next line and it stays there forever and then it eventually goes back to a command prompt like nothing happened, no error or anything.
I also tried another version I found on the website: 'bunzip2 < SDA1_IMA.BZ2 > /dev/sdb1' - Same problem.
So, I thought I would just unzip the file and try using 'dd' to put the img on the partition, but it wont unzip. I downloaded the files twice from rapidshare, and both times whenever I try to unzip the file 'sda1_ima' from the file 'sda1_ima.bz2' it wont do it.
I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 - File roller takes forever and then it says 'Unable to extract file' - this happens with all four of the IMG files.
This is why I think maybe the archive files on rapidshare have become corrupted? Can anyone else vouch me on this?
Ive been at this for days, sure glad I have nowhere to go cause of the two feet of snow outside…
