Internet Access when running transmission on MBWE II

Dear mybook-friends,

I recently got a white light MBWE II and so far I'm loving it. Same for this homepage as the tutorials are great. I installed transmission as shown here. It's also working and all, but there is a very upsetting problem with it.

When I am running transmission on MBWE, suddenly every second attempt to open a webpage on any of my computers at home leads into nowhere. Funny enough if I repeat to access e.g. google.com or any other page, it is loading at normal speed. This goes on my nerves as the problem goes on as long as I run transmission,

Does anyone know help? Are there others with the same problems?

I am running a D-Link DIR-300 router and already limited the torrent connections to max. 125. Still too high?

I have the same problem with the same router. I have to reset the router very often, but when I tried starting transmission with a minimum connections and the problem starts again.
I have a 5mbit internet connection and transmission is set to use only 1mbit.

It sounds like you are just over whelming your router. Let me see if I have this correct:

You can access the internet if transmission is not running
Once it is one you can not access the internet
If you kill transmission you can again access the internet

What method are you using to limit the torrent connections and how many torrents do you have running at a time?

Same problems here. I think it's because the NAS gets overloaded (maybe cpu, maybe ram), crashes transmission and then throws out my network/router. Reverting to transmission 1.6.1 seems more stable and limiting the number of downloading torrents helps.

After a few days of trouble shooting back and forth through PM's me and Coxeroni where able to diagnose the problem as the router a simple upgrade to dd-wrt firmware solved all his issues :)

Yea that is what I figured it was, he should take a look into QoS also to help him speed up the connection of other devices while keeping torrents rolling all the time.

dd-wrt has some excellent QoS setting and very easy to configure

It was even worse then that dlink never bothers to QC their stuff it seems. With his current setup it was in fact his router buckling under the stress of only a few connections (about 75 it seems)
