I have a 100Mb fast ethernet net at home, no systemic problems, but if I transfer a file to the NAS (I have the My Book World Edition II) the transfer rate stops at 6-7 Mbytes/sec
If I try transferring the same file via ftp, or sftp, or scp I constantly get the full lan speed, so the transfer rate is around 11-12 Mbytes/sec
I can't find the issue, this is the first time I use Samba, I tried installing Samba server on another pc in the LAN and the transfer rate still stops at 6-7Mbytes/sec
This is surely a Samba (configuration) issue, but I can't find how to check it. In the NAS the only smb.conf file I found is empty, and in the other computer I used for testing I kept the standard configuration file
p.s.: which system runs on my NAS? Linux? Which "distro"? Could I add packages or software in somewhat clean way?
