I was looking at getting a UPnP media server up and runnning (other than FireFly, which I have working fine).
Both Ushare and MediaTomb need libiconv. I have installed libiconv via ./configure and ./configure —prefix=/usr/local, and in both cases it seems to install okay with make, make install.
Mediatomb also installs fine, but when I attempt to run it, I get the following error:
mediatomb: can't load library 'libiconv.so.2'
Similarly, I can compile UServe 1.0 via ./configure PKF_CONFIG=/usr/local/pin/pkg-config (I sucessfully installed pkg-config). But when I come to use make for UServe, I get the following error:
util_iconv.o:/tmp/myfiles/ushare-1.0/src/util_iconv.c:161: more undefined references to ‘libiconv’ follow
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: * [ushare] Error 1
make: Leaving directory ‘/tmp/myfiles/ushare-1.0/src’
make: * [all-recursive] Error 1
make: Leaving directory ‘/tmp/myfiles/ushare-1.0’
make: * [all] Error 2**
So although my libinconv install seems file, both Mediatomb (when attempting to run) and UServe (when attempting to make) don't like it !
Anyone got any good ideas ?
