I have a big problem. My 2TB MBWE blue ring crashed a month ago, and since then I tried to recover what I could using several methods listed on this website.
-I achieved to get a disk image of the failed disk with dd_rhelp, from which I got the image of the data partition.
-I also got the image of the non-failed disk's data partition.
-I'm working on a 2.2ghz dual-core pc on which I temporarily installed Ubuntu 8.04
My problem is this:
After mounting every disk partition containing the images, I try to loop-mount the said images.
mount -t ext3 -o loop /mnt/disque1/partA.img /mnt/img1
Everything is cool for the first one, but when I get to loop-mount the second one, a very simple and frustrating error message appears:
mount: could not find any free loop device
I'm using mount instead of losetup because losetup doesn't seem to detect linux_raid_member filesystem:
losetup /dev/loop0 /mnt/disque2/partA.img unknown filesystem: linux_raid_member
**Maybe I'm using it wrong. I don't know..
So, the question is:
How can I add some loop devices? (Like in daemon tools, the "add virtual drive" option)
