i have a gigabit lan. transfer speed between pc - pc is 50 -60 MB/s
But MBWE - PC only 7MB/s .
Is this the max speed ?
It´s so slow!
Thera are something to do for better speed ?
I do not think it could go faster, unfortunately the bluering MBWE is that slow - when I complained to WD the support told me that gigabit LAN card is just a feature and not a guarantee for gigabit speed: the main CPU is week, so it is not able to produce faster network transfer.
My MBWE bluering was failed 3 months ago and was replaced by the reseller within 5 weeks with a brandnew whitebar one. It can produce 15MB/s over my gigabit LAN. It is near to an acceptable speed, but at least twice as fast as the old MBWE.
Yes I am sorry to say the blue rings version is held back by a low cpu speed (200mhz)
however if you would like to try to update samba (the program that handles your transfers) to a newer version,
you'll see an increase in speed (I myself have gotten to 9MB/s)
there is a guide here: http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-219027/updating-network-software-guide
this covers samba and ssh, if you are not comfortable working in a linux system I do not recommend updating ssh
if you have zero experience with linux then it might just be best to leave the whole thing alone but I will say you have one
of the the highest out of box speeds I've heard of (mine was only about 4.5MB/s when I got it)
Hope this helps!
I eat syntax like you for breakfast on my way to fight real errors.
