Mybook World failed, no blue light was on, but I was still able to ping it. I'm thinking a boot file was corrupted causing the drive to fail to boot. I have taken the drive out, putting in a desktop with a dual boot Ubuntu. Gparted sees the drive as an array, only 4 partitions are shown /dev/sdb1, sdb2, sdb3, sdb4. But I can't access files on the drive. Is the rescue procedure what I need to do to access the drive and more importantly the files? Can the rescue procedure be adapted to the drive being /dev/sdb1, sdb2, sdb3, sdb4 instead of /dev/sda? And are the files on the drive recovered after this procedure? Or is there a Linux program to repair the files?
