I have installed Transmission through the FeaturePack manager and I'm comparing the install to anpe008's guide on installing Transmission. I am looking at the settings available on Transmission in the FPmanager and I don't really understand the logic behind the default settings. The default for Transmision through FP is that a watchdog script is run every 10 minutes and that transmission should NOT start when the system starts. I guess that would make sense if the watchdog script monitored a folder for new torrent files and if it found any new ones it started transmission and added the files. But as far as I can tell the watchdog that is included does no such thing. So basically the watchdog scripts just runs every 10 minutes and does nothing useful because transmission isn't running. It's like putting gas on your car without ever running the engine.
It feels like I'm missing something here. Surely there is a reason the settings are like this?
(btw, I don't know what the included watchdog script actually does, but I am guessing that it has something to do with the permissions of the transmission download folder? but again, you would only need to tamper with those if you were actually downloading something)
