I fixed $PATH in sshd.config and must have made an error. Putty can not connect now. I went through "Restore Factory Default Procedure", which suprisingly went very quickly. Enabled SSH via web interface, but SSH-client still can not even connect. I don't have a Linux machine here, what can I do?
Hello Yorrick, more or less the same happened to me and i forgot to temporarily enable telnet access :-( Did you succeed in restoring ssh-access. I tried to upgrade fw to 01.02.05, but that didn't help (it shouldn't but you never know).
It must be possible to make a package that could be applied via fw-upgrade procedure to deinstall and reinstall ssh completely (including sshd.conf). Unfortunately I don't know how.
if you have the BLUERING, and still have access to the firmware upgrade interface,
( the following does not work with the Whitelight edition)
then you could install feature pack manager , + the debug feature pack.
the debug feature pack should help you to get back telnet or ssh access…
Copy paste the following url in the Feature Pack installer :
if you do not have access to the firmware upgrade, then the only way is to extract the disk.
Thanks for your answer. I have a Whitelight edition. I looked at the highlevelbits site before and I had found this option. Unfortunately you need to install the featurepack manager first. And for that you need ssh access. Stuck again…
I do have access to the firmware upgrade. I even tried an upgrade to 01.02.05. Didn't help me out.
On my version http://Mybook-Ip-Address/auth/firmware_upgrade.pl?fwserver=inertia.info/firmware.php does not work. I tried several with and without argument. I get a 404 then.
It looks like I have to disassemble the darn thing.
