I just purchased a myBook World II 4tb array. While it lets you turn on root ssh and a few other things that were previously "hack only", it seems to be crippled in a few very important ways…
First, here are some identifiers.
Device Name NAS
Firmware Version 01.01.18 with MioNet 18.104.22.168
built on Wed Dec 2 15:55:04 CST 2009
/opt/bin # uname -a
Linux NAS 22.214.171.124 #1 Tue Feb 10 11:00:22 GMT 2009 armv5tejl unknown
and here are some basic problems!
/opt/bin # ls -al
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 19 20:03 .
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 May 19 20:03 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3128 May 19 20:03 ipkg
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Jul 10 10:45 ipkg-opt -> ipkg
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4248 May 19 20:03 update-alternatives
/opt/bin # ./ipkg
-sh: ./ipkg: not found
/opt/bin # su -
-sh: su: not found
/opt/bin # ldconfig
-sh: ldconfig: not found
As you can see, su is missing, ldconfig is missing, and ipkg will not run at all for a reason I have yet to figure out. optware is unuseable since ipkg will not run. On a sidenote, TwonkyMedia is still at 5.1 and seems to be crashing when it's creating it's database from the 500+ movies I moved onto the array last night. <sigh>
Once again, this is a brand new MyBook World edition.
Can anyone else verify? Also, anyone gotten further troubleshooting the ipkg thing yet?
