Transmission v2.04-1 is out! Has someone checked if it crashes or not on white or blue light?
Any brave to test?
I am testing it on my white light.
Transmission has been running for 17 hours now.
I start the daemon with
EVENT_NOEPOLL=1; export EVENT_NOEPOLL
to disable epoll for libevent.
Explained here: https://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/3196
Maybe that is the solution for crashing from 1.92 and up !!!
So, where is the best place to put EVENT_NOEPOLL=1; export EVENT_NOEPOLL to load every time transmission starts/restarts?
Just before you launch the transmission-daemon
That would work. Just put it at the top of the init script, make a new line after the shebang line ("#!/bin/sh" ) and just put it there. Then if you have the init script automatically executed on booting the mybook (thus starting transmission-daemon), it will be automatically done before firing up the daemon.
after installing rewrite config.json by default settings every time, when killed and starting. Wnat i can do with this?
I was downloading big 4.4Gb torrent with transmission 1.7x and it crashed whole system when download was around 85% done..
So I got upset and installed v2.04-1 (using optware) and downloaded other big torrent with v2.04-1. So far so good. Download was successful.
Then I saw this forum thread about that 'EVENT_NOEPOLL=1; export EVENT_NOEPOLL' thingy and just executed it and downloaded yet another big file with v.2.04-1.
So far so good.. - 5h without crash.. will test this further.
with "EVENT_NOEPOLL=1; export EVENT_NOEPOLL" in start script transmission's client couldn't connect to server, without this option - all ok. Any ideas what with it?
WD connected to router with dhcp, when transmission with EVENT_NOEPOLL=1; export EVENT_NOEPOLL i can connect only by ip (ssh, transmission client, windows share), when starting without this option, by name. What i must do to have access by name with this option?
