Just got a MBWE thinking it would be as easy to hack and use for backups as my NSLU2 + be more reliable (as the NSLU2 now regularily loses connection to its USB disk!) However, I'm failing at virtually the first hurdle in that I cannot mount the drives from my WD netcenter. E.g. I get
/ # mount -t cifs //192.168.1.101/shared /mnt/netcenter/shared
mount: Mounting //192.168.1.101/shared on /mnt/netcenter/shared failed: No such device
adding extra options I used on the NSLU2 ( -o uid=500,gid=65535,fmask=0764,dmask=0775,password="") I get the same.
At one point I got a "can't find /etc/fstab" message but don't seem to be able replicate that now!
The wiki seems to suggest that mount -t cifs will mount PC and NAS disks …. has anyone managed this and if so what is the trick!
Also, wiki mentions using rsync to sync 2 MBWE's … anyone confirm whether this works as I have a plan at some point to replace the netcenter (which doesn't support rsync) with another MBWE and I if rsync works then that would work with rsnapshot.
