First of all excuse my ignorance. I am very new to these things.
Recently i got from a friend a WD MyBookWorld II Ed. Blue rings, with two 3.5" HDD's of 500GB each. For a long time it was working perfect. Later on, and for about 6 months was totally inactive. Then it got to my hands. After cleaning it, i powered it on. And started working. The fan, the blue rings, both disks. I could access it from my browser at 192.168.1.x, and try to set it up. And then, both the rings started flashing at the same time. According to the manual that means overheating and i had to shut it down (during overheating mode stopped responding). I waited to cool down, and start over, and after 4-5 min all over again.
So i got a SATA cable, and formatted both of the drives to NTFS using a Windows 7 PC and OEM sw (didn't use 3rd party sw like PartitionMagic, etc). And got them both back in. After that i never saw the rings light again. I can hear and feel the disks working, but nothing else seems to work: fan and lights.
I access my router and i can't see it connected, even though the ethernet light on my router is on.
What do i have to do to make it work?
Can it work?
PS1. The one HDD is the OEM WD. The second one is a Seagate 3.5" HDD with 500GB.
PS2. The power supply was sent to me by WD (free of charge) about a month ago because the original got lost somewhere, so there is no problem with the power supply.
PS3. I didn't find the time to search and browse the topics in case there is a similar case with mine, so if there is, please point it out for me and i will read it carefully and then come back with more questions.
Thanks in advance for your time
