I'm having trouble setting up cron jobs to run.
I installed cron using Optware and I used this command to see if it's running:
ps -a | grep cron
6018 root 592 S /opt/sbin/cron
My understanding is cron jobs need to be placed in the /opt/etc/crontab file.
I created a simple task, to create a file in the /tmp directory (just to test if cron is working). This is the contents of the crontab file:
* * * * * touch /tmp/cron.test
The permissions of the crontab file:
-rw-— 1 root root 238 Oct 21 03:22 crontab
I'm not sure what the permissions should be.
Any feedback is appreciated.
