How to share usb on twonky ?

Hello everyone.

My question is simple, but I can´t do it.

In twonky how is the path to share the usb disk ? I can´t see the usb disk connect to the MyBookWorld, I only see the mybookworld unit.

is //mybookworld/usb1-1share1 ??

Hi, try a path that starts with "../"

.. means "the parent folder"

../usb1-1share1

Twonky defaults to looking in DataVolume/Public for the shared media.
http://192.168.1.10:9000/rpc/set_option?contentbase=/DataVolume/Public
It is necessary to change this default so that it includes a location where the external media is found.

1. In a browser go to: http://192.168.1.10:9000/rpc/set_option?contentbase=/
This sets the default location to a root directory which includes the shared external media. Note that the IP address above is the one currently being used by the MyBook on your network.
2. Fine tune the folder settings which Twonky looks in. Log into Twonky using the MYBook's IP address + 9000 i.e. : http://192.168.1.101:9000 and go into the settings (look for the spanner icon).
3. Go to: Basic Setup > Sharing
4. In “Content locations” set the directories that Twonky will look in:

/DataDownload//Public/Shared Videos
/DataDownload//Public/Shared Pictures
/DataDownload//Public/Shared Music
 (Note the double // between DataDownload and Public)
/shares/usb1-1share1

5. Scroll to bottom and select “Auto share removable media”
6. Save changes
7. Go to Advanced setup > Maintenance > Restart server
USB media will now be shared.

(Many hours and tears went into these instructions. )

woow.
twonky is really 1 thing i dont use on my NAS and it was almost first thing I disabled :)
Watching movies via network share from NAS to my PC is just fine with me.. so no need for something else.

What also worked for me was to issue the following command (via a SSH client):
ln -s /shares/usb1-1share1/ /DataVolume/Public/usb1-1share1
You can now simply browse to your usb disk in Twonky's web interface.
