For the last two days I have tried to get MiniDLNA optware to work on my Whitelight 1TB. This I have done because I got a Samsung BD-C8200 HDD/Bluray player with DLNA support, and I really want this setup to run smoothly so that I don't have to have my Media-PC running anymore.
Well, enough backgrund…
What I really need is to know if there are anyone here that have had any luck with the MiniDLNA on a whitelight unit?
- I have installed the latest package (/opt/bin/ipkg install minidlna) and everything went fine, all success on that part!
- I changed the config file (/opt/etc/minidlna.conf) to the following settings:
# port for HTTP (descriptions and SOAP) traffic
# set this to the directory you want scanned.
# * if have multiple directories, you can have multiple media_dir= lines
# * if you want to restrict a media_dir to a specific content type, you
# can prepend the type, followed by a comma, to the directory:
# + "A" for audio (eg. media_dir=A,/home/jmaggard/Music)
# + "V" for video (eg. media_dir=V,/home/jmaggard/Videos)
# + "P" for images (eg. media_dir=P,/home/jmaggard/Pictures)
# set this if you want to customize the name that shows up on your clients
# this should be a list of file names to check for when searching for album art
# note: names should be delimited with a forward slash ("/")
# set this to no to disable inotify monitoring to automatically discover new files
# note: the default is yes
# set this to yes to enable support for streaming .jpg and .mp3 files to a TiVo supporting HMO
# default presentation url is http address on port 80
# report system uptime instead of daemon uptime
# notify interval in seconds. default is 30 seconds.
# serial and model number the daemon will report to clients
# in its XML description
- After this I launched the app (/opt/sbin/minidlna), up to this everything is smooth sailing….
When I check running processes with "ps" it lists three pid for minidlna. The server is also visible in the Samsung player, but…… with no files!!!
- I then killed all MiniDLNA processes (killall minidlna) and removed the db file (/tmp/minidlna/files.db).
- Then I restarted the process (/opt/sbin/minidlna) and after that the log file (/tmp/minidlna/minidlna.log) shows exactly the same as first run:
[2011/02/19 23:57:34] minidlna.c:609: warn: Starting MiniDLNA…
[2011/02/19 23:57:34] sql.c:49: error: SQL ERROR 1 [no such table: SETTINGS]
SELECT UPDATE_ID from SETTINGS
[2011/02/19 23:57:34] minidlna.c:645: warn: Database version mismatch; need to recreate…
[2011/02/19 23:57:35] scanner.c:729: warn: Scanning /DataVolume/Movies
[2011/02/19 23:57:35] scanner.c:799: warn: Scanning /DataVolume/Movies finished (0 files)!
[2011/02/19 23:57:35] minidlna.c:684: warn: HTTP listening on port 8200
The database file is recreated but still no files on the player…
Now to the real question… Does anyone have any idea what is wrong or if it is even possible to get this package running the way it is supposed to on a MBWE whitelight edition?
Please help, any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!! I know that there are a whole bunch of people here that can work magic, as I have had great help in the past with a lot of thing regarding my MBWE (cups server, works like a charm)! Thanks for that by the way!!
