Hi.. I have a WE II 2TB white lights.. it all started when I was modifying some stuff, and I accidentally placed an old gcc library when I was trying to make it work (WD removed it from recent versions).. this made everything in the OS not work asking for the right version (even basic bash commands stopped)
so at some point I had to reboot the unit and of course it was bricked
Then I was able to un-brick it using a combination of many solutions.. especially that I didn't want to lose my data or format my disks (I would create a tutorial about this soon once the side effects here are gone).. now ssh works, the disk is detectable on the network.. but I have tow main problems..
1: the http daemon worked, but accessing via web interface didn't work.. (displayed blank page like there's no default home page), and when tried to add "/index.php" to the end, it downloaded the file as if it's an attachment, didn't render it.
- so I tried repairing some httpd settings, reinstalling php from ipkg.. making sure the webui is intact and everything was ok but no luck… then I tried modifying some settings in config.xml in /proto/SxM_webui/admin, then rebooted.. now the http server doesn't work at all, or works but at a different port.. the thing is, I only need the admin interface so I could try fixing my 2nd problem…
2: After un-bricking the unit.. my old shares were now inaccessible from network or from anywhere, and they are probably not mounted at all.. I know that they're there and they're good because I mounted both my disks in RAID1 on ubuntu and they were fine.. I use JBOD, so i have the ROOT partition in RAID1, as well as swap and the other /var partition, but there's an independent partition on each disk, where I have 3 volumes in them.. and these are inaccessible from ssh (couldn't try mounting them cuz i'm afraid to break anything now) .. I need a way to mount them back and thought the web interface is the safest way.. which I need to get working again.. any ideas??
Note: before bricking the unit I was able to modify the web interface to let me login into transmission's web interface directly instead of having to type any urls.. that was pretty easy, a tutorial's coming for that if my interface worked again! ^^
