Slow Speeds on MBWE 1TB 1st Edition... Is this normal?

Hi all,

I came across this wiki after becoming frustrated with 1 day old MBWE. I configured the unit through the web interface and created a user, folder with full access. I'm using my mac to access via smb and the fastest I've seen it transfer is 4MB/sec via gigabit!

I can get 30-40MB/sec from my mac to my laptop. The switch says the MBWE is connected at gigiabit.

Are these boxes this slow?? I need to backup 800GB and don't want to wait 122 hours.

These unit's will no where near match the performance of a desktop computer (in this case your mac). I get about 3.5 - 4mb on 100Mb LAN.

If you want fast transfer speeds, these units are not for you.

thanks for the reply. I'll be taking it back then.

3.5MB isn't even 100Mb speed.
