I don´t know how, but I lost my SAMBA. I can access my WD MyBook via SSH & FTP, but not anymore via a standard Windows Share. I can make a new directory in the Shared Storage Manager, which is even created, but it won´t show up in the network neighborhood. The whole WD MyBook isnt visible. I tried restarting SAMBA but to no avail.
I´m not that good Linux and find it hard to pinpoint the problem. not sure what I can do to check if its running, etc. If I do a netstat -a, I see the following NetBios connections:
tcp 0 0 *:netbios-ssn *:* LISTEN udp 0 0 *:netbios-ns *:* udp 0 0 *:netbios-dgm *:*
And via ps aux I find:
root 1137 0.0 2.6 1948 792 ? Ss 17:13 0:00 /usr/local/samba/sbin/nmbd -D -s/var/oxsemi/smb.conf -l/mnt/ramdisk
And in my log.nmbd on my ramdisk:
[2008/01/07 17:13:17, 0] nmbd/nmbd.c:main(699) Netbios nameserver version 3.0.23c started. Copyright Andrew Tridgell and the Samba Team 1992-2006 [2008/01/07 17:19:02, 0] nmbd/nmbd_become_lmb.c:become_local_master_stage2(396) ***** Samba name server MYBOOKWORLD is now a local master browser for workgroup WORKGROUP on subnet 192.168.1.33 *****
I´m clueless what to do next. Could anyone provide some assistance?
