After (3) years of great usage, my Bluering is staring to freeze. It seems to be caused by a lot of disk activity: e.g., copying a lot of files off.
When ssh'ing into the box, I notice that if I commence a copy in Windows, the ssh prompt will start showing "Bus Error", and then lose connectivity—both from Windows and the ssh prompt. The only fix is to restart the drive at which point it all starts over.
One thing I noticed last night is that the ethernet cable light does not come on but I can access the box.
When I first got the box, I uninstalled mionet and all the other standard tweaks to get factory software off or stopped.
I'm not a big HW guy, so I have a question: Is what I'm seeing indicative of a hard-drive failure? After three years, I wouldn't be surprised. But if I can salvage some of the data, that would be ideal. Any hints/suggestions?
