I get compiler error when I try to compile rtorrent after Im done with libtorrent….so … I wanted to check with the guide…. which is now gone… :(
you have something against optware?
well… no.. :) just didnt think about it….
I thought you were a transmission advocate? ;o)
As I recall, I had a couple of problems installing rtorrent. One was due to some of the dependent libraries not being found which I fixed by adding /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld/so.conf and running ldconfig.
The other was due to the libtorrent configure script not recognising that I actually had the correct version of OpenSSL installed. (I'm typing from memory so apologies for being a bit vague). It complained about the installed version of OpenSSL (actually preinstalled on the WD) not being up-to-date. This was because it didn't have a dpkg entry. I had to manually set a couple of environment variables before re-running ./configure but the configure.log file was fairly explicit in telling me what to do.
Any help? You didn't mention what the errors you were getting were?
hehe of course I am a Transmission-fan … but since the hanging-bug seems to have been found and killed I thought I could test it again as a complement…. :)
