I'm looking to plug a USB drive into my WEII 1TB to make backups for offsite storage. The internal drives are NTFS format. When I plug in a USB drive that's formatted to NTFS it gets mounted as read-only.
First, can it be made writeable?
Second, if not, can I format the external drive to ext3 and be able to copy the internal NTFS files to the external ext3 drive? I'll be doing the copy through ssh so as to bypass a round-trip tour of the network. I prefer not to use FAT32 because I like to store video as ISO files rather than VOB's and the file sizes are greater than 4GB. If there's a way around that limitation, please let me know.
