Since I purchased this thing a few days ago I have been obsessed with hacking it and leveraging it the best I can with my iMac and MacBookPro. So far I was able to use the threads/links here to get NFS up and running along with some other things.
My latest obsession has been trying to enable AFP access. I have installed netatalk using Optware (ipkg install netatalk) and I have configured it. I know that it is running because I will be prompted for a password when I try to mount a volume using ctrl+k in Finder and will be given an error that it cannot be found when it is not running.
The problem I have is that none of the username/password combinations will authenticate successfully. Everything fails. I have tried the following:
Cleartext/Enabled cleartext in Leopard
adding .passwd file to home directory
Countless other things
I am so close, can anyone she some light on this to get me across the finish line? I read all about the Debian security issue with Leopard. Does that apply to the MBWE as well? Has anyone gotten this implemented and working with Leopard and the MBWE?
All help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for this great site!
