i have been trying to mount a windows share within mybook2/optware but it keeps telling me the no device.
I have tried to mount to another mybook2 share and it also says no device.
it would be nice to be able to mount another mybook2 share in a putty session, that way i can copy directly from one mybook2 to another mybook2 without using the PC as the transfer middle man. Becuase connecting to both shares via a PC and copying from a PC as a middle man slows the transfers down alot.
i have used SMBCLIENT, but again, that is nice, and it works, but i think having a virtual mount directory would be so much quicker.
mount -t smbfs -o username=YOURUSER,password=YOURPASSWORD //YOURSERVER/SHARE /mnt/vshare
mount -t cifs -o username=YOURUSER,password=YOURPASSWORD //YOURSERVER/SHARE /mnt/vshare
i also tried replacing YOURSERVER with the actual IP.
but both say no device. its like it can't find my windows or the other mybook2 shares, but SMBCLIENT works.
anyone have success or know what i am missing?
